This picture illustrates the finished mike with the thin cloth cover that has been trimmed to size and fastened securely to the sides of the flowerpot with weatherproof "duck" tape. 

Depending on how well the interior smaller flower pot has been secured to the base of the larger flowerpot, this mike can be a fairly durable unit. 

Since the electronic circuit is only attached to the plate with "duck" tape, one will want to avoid pulling on the cable too much otherwise the circuit may become unattached or damaged.
