Diurnal calling sequence:

1. New York March 23, 1989 (WRE). Flight whistles from bird in flight with Mourning Dove, American Crow, a howling dog, drumming woodpeckers, and a Tufted Titmouse in the background.

2. Texas December 31, 2001 (WRE). Flock foraging on the ground giving a chorus of soft "gup" calls and various gurgling sounds as well as a flight whistle and rattle call. A few female Red-winged Blackbirds accompanied this flock and they give their "pwik" call  occasionally in the midst.
