Diurnal calling sequences:

1. New York June 23, 1989 (WRE). Bird in flight giving "pek" call with Chipping Sparrow, Common Yellowthroat, and Cedar Waxwing in the background.

2. Florida May 3, 1989 (WRE). Perched bird giving "jek" call.

3. Texas December 31, 2001 (WRE). "Pwik" calls given by small flock of females in flight.

4. New York March 23, 1989 (WRE). Bird in flight giving "ki-drk" call with American Crow and American Robin in the background.

5. New York March 17, 1989 (WRE). Flock in spring migration flight. Note "seee" calls toward end of cut. "Jek" and "ki-drk" calls predominate. A few Common Grackle calls (lower-pitched calls) occur in the midst. American Crow and Blue Jay in the background.

6. Texas May 14, 2001 (WRE). Male in flight giving "teek" call. Mourning Dove and Northern Mockingbird in the background.

7. Texas May 14, 2001 (WRE). Two apparently distinct call types given in alternating series by bird in flight. Mockingbird calling in the background. Northern Mockingbird and Long-billed Thrasher in the background.
