Similar species See Savannah and Chipping Sparrows, Golden-crowned Kinglet, and descending seeps.

 

Behavior Nocturnal migrant. Gives flight call regularly while perched and in flight during the day and during nocturnal migration.

 

Spectrographic description Measured calls (N=3) were 44.2-68.8 (53.5) mS in duration and in the 6.7-8.8 (6.6-9.1) frequency range. The frequency track was single or double-banded, and the call was descending and strongly upward-arched.
