Green-tailed Towhee Pipilo chlorurus
Flight call description A variable, often buzzy "zueeee" that can be level pitched, slightly descending or slightly ascending. Diurnal examples highly variable, mono- or disyllabic, pure-toned or buzzy. Typically shorter, monosyllabic versions given during nocturnal migration. See Evans (2022).

Similar species Eastern Towhee, Spotted Towhee, Grasshopper Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, and Lincoln's Sparrow.
Behavior Nocturnal migrant. Flight call given regularly by perched birds during the day, particularly around dawn and dusk. Gives flight call during nocturnal migration.
