Diurnal calling sequences:

1. New Jersey November 28, 2001 (MO). Two "Ipswich" Sparrows perched and in short flights.

2. New Jersey November 29, 2001 (MO). Two perched "Ipswich" Sparrows. Same individuals as in example 3.

 

Spectrographic description Measured calls (N=2) were 63-72.8 (68) mS in duration and in the 7.3-12 (7.5-11.5) kHz frequency range. The frequency track was double-banded, descending, and slightly upward-arched or with a slight upward kink to a more level slope midway through the call. Calls showed distinct modulations with a spacing of 5.1-5.9 (5.5) mS between humps and a depth of 0.3-0.5 (0.4) kHz.
