Behavior Primarily a nocturnal migrant but engages in redetermined migration and limited resumed migration. Gives flight call regularly while perched and in flight during the day as well as during nocturnal migration.

 

Spectrographic description Measured calls (N=19) were 40-59.9 (50.2) mS in duration and in the 5.9-9.1 (6.8-8.4) kHz frequency range. The frequency track was single-banded and typically level but occasionally slightly rising or descending. It was modulated with 2-4 (3) humps with a spacing of 13.1-17.5 (14.6) mS and a depth of 0.8-1.8 (1.2) kHz. Modulation troughs were typically u-shaped and peaks pointed vertically.
