Behavior Primarily a nocturnal migrant but engages in redetermined migration. Gives flight call regularly while perched and in flight during the day, and presumably during nocturnal migration.

Spectrographic description Measured calls (N=15) were 37.4-58.7 (47) mS in duration and in the 5.2-8.7 (6-8.2) kHz frequency range. The frequency track was variable but typically gently downward-arched and usually double-banded though the upper band was often faint or incomplete. There were sometimes fine modulations with a spacing of 4.6-5.7 (5.2) mS between humps.
